The Profile of a Batterer

This course is intended for professionals working in domestic violence, as well as anyone interested in learning more about the subject. Participants will learn to identify the traits of batterers, recognize that batterers maintain control over their actions, comprehend the underlying belief systems of batterers, understand the motivations behind abusive behaviors, and distinguish between victims and batterers. The curriculum also includes gender-specific domestic violence statistics and provides behavioral examples illustrating each batterer characteristic.  After completion of the course evaluation and course test, participants will be provided with a certificate for 1 hour of continuing education credit.  The test is not required for those who are not interested in receiving continuing education credits.
